About Us

The Rich-Tones are five-time International Champions in the global Sweet Adelines International (SAI) organization, chartered in Richardson 53 years ago. Diverse and inclusive, with approximately 135 innovative women, we are empowered through education, competition and performances.
Our very name is closely associated with the City, and we are proud ambassadors of Richardson locally, nationally and internationally. We appeal to audiences of all ages and backgrounds; our diverse repertoire includes traditional and contemporary music.
We actively seek performance opportunities in Richardson; examples prior to Covid include an annual show at the Eisemann performance center and caroling at Santa’s Village.
Our competitions are broadcast globally, and our introduction “…from Richardson, Texas” elicits the audience’s cheers, excitement and standing ovations.
Dale Syverson, our director and long-time Richardson resident, is recognized globally as a master of our art form. Among many accomplishments, she has earned the SAI President’s Lifetime Achievement Award. A much-sought teacher, she has promoted our chorus and Richardson throughout her world travels.
Education and leadership characterize our chorus; many of our members have held Regional and International leadership roles. We continually learn from coaches who specialize in vocal production and visual presentation.
