About the speakers:
Joel Jackson is the Associate Director of Employer Relations at the University of Texas at Dallas Career Center, where he leads efforts to connect students with local and national employers. With over a decade of experience in higher education, alumni relations, and data analytics, Joel has a passion for fostering partnerships between academic institutions and industry. He specializes in developing strategic initiatives that align employer needs with student skills, enhancing both job placement and workforce development in the region.
At UT Dallas, Joel works closely with employers to understand their hiring needs, create tailored recruitment programs, and provide students with valuable career opportunities. His focus includes expanding employer engagement, strengthening internship programs, and creating pathways for student success through experiential learning.
Joel holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Texas. In his current role, he actively participates in advancing career readiness and ensuring that graduates are prepared to meet the challenges of today’s dynamic job market. Joel is passionate about contributing to the economic growth of Richardson and the greater Dallas area by helping bridge the gap between education and employment.
Jarah Miller joined the Delta Dallas team as a Client Experience Team Leader in January 2018. During her tenure, she advanced through different roles, serving as an Office Administrator and later as a Talent Acquisition Consultant. In recognition of her contributions, she was named Partner in 2022. Jarah's passion lies in connecting exceptional talent with first-rate companies, driving her devotion to the staffing industry. Her approach embodies a sophisticated blend of foresight and interpersonal skills, contributing to the cultivation of lasting partnerships within the professional landscape. She believes in combining strategic vision with relationship building to create long-lasting, mutually beneficial professional relationships between companies and candidates.
Eric O. Shanks serves as a key leader at Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas, where he focuses on connecting employers with qualified talent while empowering job seekers with the tools and resources they need to succeed in today’s workforce. With a background in workforce development, Eric brings a wealth of experience in helping businesses navigate the complexities of hiring and staffing. His expertise spans strategic partnerships, job market analysis, and community engagement, all aimed at fostering a strong, adaptable workforce in the North Texas region.

Reservations with payment are required and will not be refunded unless cancelled three days prior to event. Substitutions will be accepted until noon the day of. Walk-in attendees will be seated based on space availability.
