Kandace Walter

About Us

Attorney Kandace D. Walter is a native Texan and a proud graduate of The University of Texas School of Law (J.D., 2004) and Florida A &M University (B.S. Chemistry, 2001). She is licensed to practice law in Texas and is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She has provided valuable legal guidance to her business and intellectual property clients via Walter Legal PLLC since 2016. The firm prepares a variety of contracts for clients. The firm also advises clients on identifying and protecting intellectual property rights through patent, trademark and copyright services. Prior to opening her own law firm, she was an Assistant District Attorney for the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office as well as an Assistant City Attorney and Community Prosecutor for the Dallas City Attorney’s Office. She also worked for a medium sized firm focusing on school law and an intellectual property boutique focusing on business and IP transaction and litigation for a wide range of clients. She has been Director of the Small Business & Trademark Clinic at Southern Methodist University School of Law since 2020 and became an Associate Clinical Professor of Law in 2023.
