President and CEO
The President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the chief executive, strategist, and public face of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, the CEO advances the Chamber’s mission, strengthens financial sustainability, delivers exceptional member value, and positions the organization as a leading voice for business and economic vitality in Richardson and across North Texas.
This role requires a visible, hands on, detail oriented, relationship‑driven leader who balances strategic leadership with operational excellence, and who is energized by working across business, government, education, and the nonprofit sector to achieve results. The CEO joins the Chamber at an exciting time and will provide leadership for leveraging their experiences to build strategic relationships with city and regional partners to support initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and develop a strategic vision for the Chamber’s long term financial and operational success in partnership with the Board of Directors.
Founded in 1948, the Richardson Chamber of Commerce is a highly respected, 5‑Star Accredited organization and a leading force for business success and community impact in North Texas. Representing more than 400 member organizations—from entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies—the Chamber is recognized for its strong governance, engaged volunteer leadership, and meaningful influence across business, education, and civic sectors.
With a budget of approximately $1M, professional staff, and a deep bench of civic leaders, the organization is well positioned for continued relevance and growth. The Chamber is a world‑class organization that drives prosperity for its members and the broader Richardson community through advocacy, connection, leadership development, and innovation.
In recent years, the Chamber has sharpened its strategic focus on member value, workforce and leadership development, advocacy, expanded outreach, and strong fiscal stewardship, while working closely with the City of Richardson to support economic development objectives. A recently completed $1.3 million capital campaign and office renovation created a modern, welcoming hub.
Organizational Leadership, Vision & Strategy
- Partner with the Board of Directors to advance a clear shared vision that guides strategic priorities and decision‑making.
- Provide overall leadership for Chamber programs, services, and operations, ensuring high quality, relevance, community impact, and fiscal stewardship, ensuring alignment with Chamber vision.
- Lead the development, execution, and ongoing refinement of the Chamber’s Strategic and Annual Operating Plans in partnership with staff and volunteer leadership.
- Monitor economic, political, and business trends and proactively adapt strategies to ensure long‑term relevance and growth.
- Oversee membership recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies.
- Strengthen and clearly communicate the Chamber’s member value proposition.
- Serve as the organization’s chief fundraiser, directly involved in investor cultivation, sponsorship development, and revenue generation.
- Ensure programs and services reflect member needs, regional diversity, and evolving business priorities.
- Serve as a key spokesperson and advocate on issues important to the business community, consistent with Board‑approved positions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key civic leaders, elected officials and their staffs at the municipal, county, state, and federal levels.
- Oversee consistent, timely, and effective communication across member channels and media outlets to enhance the Chamber’s brand and influence.
- Lead, develop, and evaluate all full‑time and contract staff.
- Foster a workplace culture grounded in integrity, collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.
- Promote professional development, clear expectations, and organizational effectiveness.
- Serve as staff liaison to the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Board committees.
- Prepare agendas, materials, and recommendations to support effective governance.
- Develop and manage the annual budget; present financial reports and ensure annual independent audits.
- Recruit, engage, and inspire volunteer leaders and collaborate closely with Board members on leadership development.
- Maintain strong relationships with peer chambers, economic development partners, educational institutions, civic organizations, and media.
- 5-7+ years of progressively responsible senior leadership experience in a chamber of commerce, business association, nonprofit, economic development organization, or complex enterprise.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with boards, elected officials, and diverse stakeholders.
- Strong background in strategic planning, fundraising, financial oversight, and organizational leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred; equivalent experience considered.

The President & CEO base salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with a competitive benefits package and potential bonuses. The CEO base salary range is $120,000-$150,000. The CEO position requires residence in the City of Richardson and/or Richardson ISD boundaries within two years of the start date.
