Tour Leader: Richardson Mayor Pro Tem Janet DePuy
Join Women in Leadership and Richardson Mayor Pro Tem Janet DePuy on a stroll through CityLine for an insightful view of its public art pieces and how their design was inspired by the people who live and work in one of DFW's premier destinations located near the heart of the Richardson Telecom Corridor area. Janet will introduce us to 5 of the 8 public art pieces in the surrounding area on this walkable tour.
We will end the tour at one of CityLine's restaurants for a networking happy hour with the Mayor Pro Tem and other participants!
Janet DePuy has called Richardson home for more than 30 years. She has raised children who attended Richardson ISD schools, given back to the community in various civic roles and worked as a top Realtor in the area. She has lived in various Richardson neighborhoods, but her roots run deepest in the Heights Park neighborhood. She served as a board member for the Heights Park Neighborhood Association (HPNA) since its inception in 2005, including 10 years as president. Through her dedication and leadership, HPNA is recognized as one of the most active and productive neighborhood associations in Richardson, making significant contributions to the City of Richardson’s economic growth and development.
Janet also served on the City of Richardson Planning Commission for more than ten years, presiding as vice chair in 2018. Through this appointment, she gained extensive knowledge on proper land use, development and redevelopment within the city. Her time on the commission included major initiatives such as the State Farm campus at CityLine, the relocations of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and Fossil, the West Spring Valley redevelopment project, the renovation and redevelopment of the Richardson Heights Shopping Center, the Main Street redevelopment project and many more. In June of 2019 she was first elected to the Richardson City Council and subsequently appointed Mayor Pro Tem by her Council peers. She was re-elected to Council in May 2021 and continues to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. An alumna of Leadership Richardson XXXIII, she also served on the Board of the Arts Incubator of Richardson (A.I.R). She was named a Richardson Real Hero in 2018 in recognition of her volunteer work.
A graduate of Cheyenne Central High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, she attended the University of Wyoming and completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Dallas. A Realtor with 19 years’ experience at Keller Williams, she takes pride in creating exceptional real estate experiences for her clients.
