Lisa Bormaster was appointed Publisher of the Dallas Business Journal and also accepted the responsibility for overseeing the American City Business Journal chain's {C}
At the Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal Lisa initiated several editorial projects and signature events. She began the paper's Women in Business Awards ten years ago, which has grown to a sell-out luncheon of 1,100 each year. She also began the Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal Minority Business Awards, where minority entrepreneurs, their corporate advocates, and executives of color are honored each year.
Lisa and the Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal were honored by NAWBO as "Media Advocate of the Year" in 2005. Additionally, Lisa was honored as ?Woman of the Year? in 2005 by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce. In 1997, while serving as publisher of the Austin Business Journal, the Austin Advertising Society recognized her with the "Woman of the Year" award. The Dallas Business Journal will offer the paper's first Women in Business Event in July, 2008.
Lisa has a long history of board service, holding seats and serving as chair of the boards for several organizations in each community where she has lived and worked. Lisa was elected Chair of the Board of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce, the second woman to hold that position in its 125-year history.
