Description
"Xers, Boomers and Ys? Oh My!"
A panel discussion on generational leadership
You probably have one on your work team. You know. The 25-year-old employee who sports a tattoo, at least one visible piercing and the latest release from Apple. These ?Millenniums? are entering the workforce in droves, which is a good thing since studies show close to 64 million baby-boomers will be retiring by the end of this decade. How do you manage this new crop of twentysomethings and their Generation X predecessors?
Nancy Barry, professional speaker and author of When Reality Hits: What Employers Want Recent College Graduates to Know, will lead a multi-generation panel in a dialogue around leadership styles. Discover the differences between the three generations preferred work environments, communication styles, career motivators and more so you can better manage and work with a multi-generational workforce.
Panelists:
Annie Salem- This recent Vanderbilt graduate epitomizes Generation Y. Eager for development opportunities; she has already worked at Deloitte and Touche, EDS and now Southwest Airlines as a business analyst.
Hilary Myers- After taking over her mother?s Richardson-based software company, Technical Perspectives, this Generation Xer has to manage a workforce comprised of baby-boomers.
Jeanne Hooker - A Baby Boomer, who manages and works with a workforce comprised of Generation Xers and Y?s is very familiar with the different career motivators and work styles of each.
Rachel Ziolkowski- With a specialty in HR/employment law, Rachel knows the legal intricacies of hiring across generations.
