This month's topic:
Welcome the North Texas District Export Council (DEC)
Nathan Muncaster (Nate), MBA, brings 20 years of international trade acumen, technical sales skills and the ability to speak 7 languages to his employers and their relationships. Nate combines the strategic adaptability to recognize and manage vastly different markets, and the flexibility to work and thrive in multiple continents, with exceptional business development skills and a “can do” attitude that delivers results.
By this stage in his career, Nate has been posted as an expatriate in 5 different countries, with 3 different employers, and been honored twice by the Presidential Export Achievement Awards in 2010 and 2014. These awards are sometimes presented by the President of the United States personally, and recipients are selected from a limited quantity of companies that demonstrate not only a 4-year trend of continuous export sales growth, but exceptionalism in other aspects of the company’s export performance. Additionally, Nate has expertise in the technical area of non-tariff barriers to international trade.
Nate began his career out of graduate school directly as an expatriate for the Dana Corporation in the automotive industry, who by demonstrating deliverable results and the ability to bridge language and culture barriers, was transferred from country to country to various roles, first in Paris, then Sao Paulo, then central Mexico. Nate changed industries due to an opportunity to work in Hong Kong and then New York in international transportation for Schenker and then Hellman Logistics. After these experiences Nate went to work in Polyguard Products in Texas, where he stayed for over 15 ½ years, over 14 of which were in exports.
As an experienced expert on non-tariff barriers or free trade barriers in more recent nomenclature, Nate has presented as a panelist at multiple conferences in the United States and been a case study invited to present the problems facing Polyguard Products, both in Washington DC and in Europe to European and American trade negotiators.
