BASIS Texas Charter Schools is a network of K-12, college preparatory charter schools in the State of Texas with nine campuses in Texas with two more opening in the fall of 2025 in Plano and Richardson. The mission of BASIS Texas Charter Schools is to provide their students a globally competitive education through a transformative, K-12 program. Their campuses focus first and foremost on a culture of academic rigor, which yields results that are state, nationally, and globally recognized. Their flagship campus in San Antonio was recently ranked in the top 100 of public schools by US News and World Reports, with a sister campus in Arizona ranked the top public school in the country. Most recently, more than 80% of their graduates in Texas were accepted into top 100 universities with an average merit-based scholarship of over $200K per student.
David Hubalik is the CEO of BASIS Ed Texas and has been with BASIS for nearly 16 years as a teacher, school leader, and school management executive. He has served BASIS Charter School campuses in Arizona, Louisiana, Texas, and Washington D.C., having made his home in Texas since 2015. With a strong track record of success, he has led the development of educational campuses in three states (and one district), overseeing everything from regulatory compliance to team building, staffing, and financial structure. David believes in the BASIS mission which is to provide students a globally competitive education in an increasingly competitive world, as students are capable of and all students deserve to have the very best. The future of our State and Country depends on this. His leadership is rooted in that: student success first, student success always.
