Network of Community Ministries has seen demand quadruple during pandemic

The number of people asking for emergency help from a Richardson nonprofit tells a sobering story about the economic impact of COVID-19.

Before the pandemic, the Network of Community Ministries estimates it had about 170 families visit its food pantry every week. Now, the social services organization says it’s providing food assistance to 150 families every day.

The nonprofit is also distributing 1,300 emergency food boxes to Richardson ISD families every week.
