CEO David Clements announced today that the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) has reopened the international office after extensive renovation at its Richardson location. The association hosted an open house and reception Nov. 7 to celebrate the occasion and recognize many important contributors to the capital campaign that enabled the renovation.

IAEI moved to Richardson from Chicago in 1992. A member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, the IAEI international office has been a stable local employer, managing the membership administration, publications, and electrical code training for inspectors, contractors, electricians, and engineers.

“After researching alternatives to renovation, we felt our Richardson facility was still the best option for its convenient location and local resources,” said Mr. Clements. “We are pleased to have this major project completed, with the help of our donors and in-kind support.”

Special appreciation goes out to industry donors National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL), CSA Group, Eaton, Siemens, Southwire and others. The IAEI international office also thanks the IAEI Sections, Chapters, Divisions and individual contributors who gave so much to make this renovation possible. All Capital Improvement Campaign donors are recognized on the IAEI website.

“It’s been a pleasure working with local companies Entos Design and Abstract Construction. They helped move us from our redesign concept to workable detailed plans, then managed the project to be completed on time and within budget,” added Clements. “Thanks to the mobility provided by cloud network and telecom services and our local IT support provider Preferred Technologies, our staff was able to keep the office running remotely during construction and transition back into the office. The staff is very thankful to be back together in our updated offices.”
