The Richardson Chamber has joined the Texas Association of Business' (TAB) Texas 2050 plan, a framework for long-term economic growth. The plan five pillars for progress: education/workforce development, infrastructure, investment capital, innovation and tools to compete. The Texas Association of Business’ Economic Development Committee is helping lead a coalition of economic development professionals to ensure a statewide unified vision/voice for economic development during the upcoming legislative session in 2017.

The Chamber has a history of supporting economic development policy at the state level, and the basic principals of Texas 2050 are ones the Chamber has endorsed for years. The Chamber will have its own legislative agenda for the legislative session but will support this initiative, as well.
