Board profile: Monica Scott, Logotology
Monica Scott is a true hometown girl. She’s lived in Richardson all her life, graduated from Berkner High School and now owns a small business here.
In serving her community, she’s a new member to the Chamber’s board; she’ll serve as the vice chair of the business services division in 2020.
“I have been a member in the chamber for years, and recently served on the advisory committee, the executive after hours and the bowling committees,” she said. She also is a graduate of Leadership Richardson and has served as curriculum advisor and LR Alumni Association board member.
Monica is a graduate of University of Texas at Dallas with bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics and a master’s in business administration. She spent 20 years in telecommunications and consulting before going into her business, Logotology, with her sister. Her father, Bob Macy, also helps with the business and was the chamber’s Citizen of the Year last year.
Logotology is a promotional product and apparel company. “Our clients range from large and growing businesses to schools and many non-profit organizations,” she said. “We supply items for any type project; to promote business, fundraise, appreciate staff or clients as well as uniforms for any size team.”
“The chamber is my go-to source,” she said. “It is a great place to learn about the businesses in our area. It is an invaluable resource for learning about and taking action on pretty much every aspect that relates to my business, whether it be local government, community activities or business opportunities.”
“I love the people that are members. They welcomed me with open arms and are some of the best business men and women I know: encouraging, informative, accomplished and most importantly - fun!!” she said.
Monica also serves on several community boards including Richardson East Rotary, Richardson Symphony Orchestra, the Richardson ISD Foundation, The Network of Community Ministries and the Canyon Creek Homeowners Association Board.
She loves to run, sew, listen to audio books and is a chronic “Googler.” She “re-met” her husband, Glenn, at her high school reunion. They have four children.
