Ambassador of the month: Amy W. Taylor
Helping build Richardson into a thriving, successful business community is more than a mission statement to Amy Taylor.
“This is the city I grew up in and helped mold me into the person I am today,” she said. “I volunteer with the Chamber because I want to give back so that when my children grow up, they will be as proud to say they are from Richardson as I am.”
Amy was named a recent Ambassador of the Month. But promoting Richardson isn’t all she does.
She currently is the director of volunteer services at Methodist Richardson Medical Center. “I manage, direct, recruit and motivate all volunteers at the Bush/Renner and Campbell medical centers. I enjoy volunteering, and I’m so excited that I can spend my days working with others who also give selflessly of their time and talents,” she said.
Previously, Amy was in marketing and development for the Eisemann Center. And, prior to that, she held multiple roles at various cable companies.
Currently, she serves the chamber in several capacities. Amy is on the board of advisors. She’s also a tri-chair, member of the education and workforce committee and a graduate of Leadership Richardson Class XXXII (the BEST class).
“Richardson Chamber is awesome because you can build relationships that go beyond business through the many different committees, events, informational sessions the Chamber provides,” she said.
“There are some awesome people that I wouldn’t have met without the Chamber.”
When not watching her kids in their various sporting and theater activities, Amy enjoys catching a good live music show, playing tennis poorly or reading. You can also find her hanging with friends when schedules align at some of the many fabulous eateries in the Richardson area.
