DESCRIPTION:Quarterly Luncheon\n\nLead where you live\n\n\n\nCharmaine Solomon\, founder and chair emeritus\, My Possibilities\n\nJoin WIL for our holiday-themed event and hear Charmaine Solomon share her personal story about leading where she lives\, through her private therapy practice\, church\, and her founder and chairman role at My Possibilities.  Leadership is needed to transform our local communities\, and can make a huge impact on the lives of those around us. Charmaine will discuss some key leadership themes that will encourage you to take steps to lead where you live\, and be part of the leaders that are making positive change within our local community.\n\n\n\nAssociate Sponsor:\n\nAssociate Sponso   \n\n\n\nCharmaine Solomon\, M.A.\, LPC RPT\n\n\n\nIn her role as a wife of a corporate executive\, mother of a blended family of four children\, one with special needs\, Charmaine has a unique and personal understanding of the complexities of personal and family dynamics.   Born and raised in South Africa\, Charmaine has worked and studied in South Africa\, England and the USA. Charmaine's education and personal and professional experiences on three different continents brings a richness of cross-cultural diversity\, international HR\, corporate business and counseling experience.   Charmaine relates well to diverse groups\, and has fostered relationships with many in the Plano community.\n\n\n\nCharmaine completed her undergraduate degree at UT Dallas and her Masters degree in Counseling at Amberton University.  Charmaine completed clinical hours working with non-profit organizations like the Children's Advocacy Center and CASA providing counseling and play therapy services to at-risk children\, youth and their families. Since 2008 Charmaine has been in private practice at Solomon Family services\, specializing in working with adults\, children\, adolescents\, and their families. She utilizes a solution focused approach\, helping individuals overcome life's obstacles and reach their full potential.\n\n\n\nCharmaine is a founding member of My Possibilities - a continuing education adult college-like program for adults with special needs in Collin County.  Charmaine as founder initially served as a board member from 2007\, and for the past 10 years has served as founder and chairman of the Board of Directors\, currently Charmaine serves as founder and chair emeritus.  In these leadership roles Charmaine's primary focus has been part of setting  the strategic direction of the organization\, developing key relationships for fundraising\, donor management\, expanding the board of directors\, advisory board and creating various committees to include a wide range of diversity\, experience and skillsets to enhance and strengthen the My Possibilities leadership and management team. Charmaine's involvement in the creation of My Possibilities is very personal to her as her youngest son Kyle is an adult with special needs.  Charmaine is a special needs advocate\, and a very active member within the special needs community\, with a focus and passion on raising the bar on what is expected for adults with cognitive challenges post high school.\n\n\n\nRegistration Policy: Payment is necessary at the time of reservations.
