DESCRIPTION:Chamber Members\;\n\nYou are invited to the next Public Policy Committee meeting on Monday\, July 16th.  Our guest speaker will be Dr. Jeannie Stone\, Superintendent of RISD\, to discuss the tax ratification election (TRE) that was approved by the school board.  The election will take place on Sept. 4th.  The TRE will raise taxes to $1.17 tax rate\, a 13 cent increase. \n\n\n\nThis event is open to Richardson Chamber of Commerce members only.\n\n\n\nDr. Jeannie Stone\, Ed.D.\n\nSuperintendent\, Richardson ISD\n\n\n\nJeannie Stone began her career in Texas public education in 1990 as a middle school English teacher in Dallas ISD. She has 26 years in public education and is currently the Superintendent in Richardson ISD. Prior to moving to Richardson\, Dr. Stone served as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum/Instruction in Wylie ISD and spent 20 years in Mesquite ISD serving in various leadership roles such as principal of Poteet High School\, which was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in her first year as principal. \n\n\n\nShe was named Superintendent of RISD on January 9\, 2017. \n\n\n\nDr. Stone is passionate about continuous improvement and transformation\, and she is her best self when she is collaborating with other educators to achieve sustained results for students.
