Legislative Day provides participants the opportunity to visit the state capitol and better understand the legislative process. Individuals will have the opportunity to network with community leaders\, hear from our local representatives and key state officials\, attend committee meetings and visit various legislators. Whether you are heavily involved in politics or just have a basic understanding\, Legislative Day is a great opportunity to represent our community in Austin.\n\n \n\nHotel reservations: The official hotel this year is The Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin. It's close to the Capitol Building and in the heart of downtown Austin activities. The room block is sold out.\n\n \n\nTuesday\, March 5\n\n \n\n3:00 pm Hotel check in begins at The Driskill Hotel\, 604 Brazos St\,\n\n5:30 p.m. Delegate reception - Iron Cactus Mexican Grill\, 606 Trinity St.\,\n\n7:15 pm Delegation dinner at Iron Cactus Mexican Grill\, 606 Trinity St.\n\n \n\nWednesday\, March 6\n\n8a.m. Breakfast reception -\n\n8:45 a.m. Group photo - Location To Be Announced\n\n \n\n9a.m. - noon - Group legislator visits\; Visit House and Senate Chambers\n\n \n\nNoon - 1:30 p.m. - delegate lunch - Speaker will be TEA Commissioner Michael Williams\n\n\n\n1:30 p.m. - Justice Don Willette will be guest speaker.\n\n \n\n2p.m. - Individual visits to legislators\; tours\, etc.\n\n \n\nOther activities include group photo in the capitol rotunda\, visiting a senate and house session\, attending committee meetings\, legislator visits\, tour of the capitol building and a tour of the state history museum.
