First Choice Emergency Room will serve as a drop-off location for Operation Gratitude from March 28 through April 10. Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that seeks to lift spirits and meet the evolving needs of our military and first responder communities, as well as provide volunteer opportunities for Americans to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation.

First Choice is asking community members to donate items which will be used to create gift bags sent to deployed troops and the family members they leave behind. Items most needed include:
  • Beanie Babies/Ty/ Webkinz plush toys
  • Warmers  (instant hand and foot)
  • Batteries  (AA & AAA, 4 pack)
  • Earbuds
  • Earplugs
  • Socks
  • Hats
  • Scarves
  • Gum
  • Mints
  • iPods
  • Video games
  • DVDs
  • Playing cards
  • Sodoku puzzles
 Hand-written letters expressing gratitude for service and well wishes are also much appreciated. First choice also will accept personal care products including: chapstick; disposable razor packs; tooth brush and tooth paste; dental floss; moist towelettes; Q-Tips; facial tissue; sunscreen stick (no liquid); OFF! towelettes and foot powder.
