Job Description
Transworld Business Advisors is the world leader in the sales of businesses, franchises and commercial real estate. With more than 3000 active business-for-sale listings, Transworld offers the professional services that successfully bring buyers and sellers together. Although Transworld is an international organization with close to 200 offices worldwide, our local office is independently owned and operated. Our agents primarily list and sell businesses in Dallas, Richardson, Garland, Mesquite, Sachse and Rowlett.
 
Required Skills & Backgrounds:
  • Marketing or sales experience
  • Familiarity with reading and analyzing financial statements
  • Experience in transaction-based industries (i.e. real estate, accounting, banking or law)
  • Prefer business ownership experience
  • Sufficient liquid net worth to support a start-up period of 3 months. Although highly lucrative, this is a commission-only position; there is no fixed salary.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

The Pay:
Business Brokers are very well compensated. When a Business Broker mediates a sale, he/she charges a commission of 12% of the business purchase price. That commission is collected by the broker's firm and the agent is paid out a percentage of that amount. For example, if you close a sale of $1,000,000 priced business at 12% commission, the total commission is $120,000 and the agent would get $62,280 (51.9%) of that commission. The agent's commission percentage increases as he / she brings more business to the firm; for example, the next sale of $1,000,000 business at 12%, the agent would get a commission of $77,280 (64.4%).

  • Average: >$75,000 / year (based on 5 closed deals)
  • Good: >$150,000 / year (based on 9 closed deals)
  • Excellent: >$300,000 / year (based on 12 to 15 closed deals)
The Opportunity:
Your income depends on your sales & business skills and dedication to learn & grow. As an agent, you'll have the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs and business owners assisting them design their exit or entry into the business world.
 
Training:
Once hired, the agent will complete online training within a couple of weeks and then receive one week of training in our corporate headquarters at West Palm Beach, Florida, typically within 2 months of getting hired. On-going support and guidance will be provided after initial training. The agent can start to list and sell businesses as soon as he / she completes online training. The agent is fully compensated for all training costs.
 
Sales & Marketing:
After receiving comprehensive training, the agent will run his / her sales & marketing campaign and get business listings through various techniques such as drop letters, direct mail campaigns, FSBO opportunities, networking (Meetups, BNI, Chamber, etc.) The local office will also provide marketing support and leads to the agent.
