Thankful for a successful election that makes Richardson stronger

Thankful for a successful election that makes Richardson stronger

Elections are an important part of good governance, and every one impacts the long-term well-being of a community. Once again, Richardson residents didn’t disappoint during our recent election that concluded yesterday. Richardson supported the passage of all of the measures brought forth in the bond and city charter amendments (read more) most with overwhelming majorities. As a result, Richardson has another foundational layer for continued growth and community health for the future.

Voters approved the $115 million bond package (with no tax rate increase!) and all the 83 amendments to the city charter.

Because of this election, the bond package funds a six-year program that will improve Richardson’s streets, sidewalks, parks, police and fire facilities, etc. Also, though extensive, the amendments facilitate a comprehensive update to the city charter for the first time in more than two decades, incorporating changes recommended by a citizen charter review commission. Thank you for plowing through so many necessary changes!

Thank you to all of you who took your time to contribute to the legislative process, both in voting and to those who campaigned for passage.

I sincerely appreciate your investment, both with your positive vote and your support of the Chamber. We continue to build Richardson for the future.

Thankful for our home—

Bill
